2011 Brief

For many years we felt God prompting us to serve the people of Africa by using the gifts and skills He has blessed us with.  In recent times doors opened and we felt God leading us to Tanzania for 12 months in 2011.

Who we went with....
We went in partnership with The Church Missionary Society-Australia (CMS) as short term volunteers. CMS is a missionary sending agency working in partnership with local churches both here in Australia and all over the world. To find out more about CMS, please visit www.cms.org.au

Why we went....
To serve God by showing Christ's love through our actions and relationships.

What we did in Tanzania....
We worked voluntry with the African Church in Murgwanza. Saskia was involved with nursing education at Murgwanza Hospital and Rob helped the Diocese with Information Technology. Rob took his guitar loved the worship through music ministry. We also were involved in the education of our three sensational boys whilst away.
We served God by caring for his people. As a family we showed Christ's love through our relationships with each other and with others.

A bit about us....
I (Rob) attended St Matthews Anglican Church in West Pymble growing up and have always had a faith in Christ. I changed career from Electronics to Information Technology and currently work for Pacific Hills Christian Education as ICT Manager.
I love God, my family and really enjoy carpentry, cycling, music and Australian native horticulture.

I (Saskia) began fellowship at St Philips Anglican Church in South Turramurra as a teenager and have worshipped there ever since. I trained as a nurse after school and have worked most of my career at Royal North Shore Hospital working in neurology. I love to run, read and especially like being a soccer mum.

We have three delightful boys - Mitchell, aged 11, is a sensitive soul who loves God. Jake, aged 9, is the comedian of the family and is passionate about soccer. Oliver, aged 7, is a busy boy trying to keep up with his big brothers. They all had a very rewarding time living in Africa in 2011

As a family we love worshipping and serving at our local church in Sydney. Rob is heavily involved in the music ministry and Sas has spent many years on the leadership teams. We thank God for their continued relationship and their ongoing support whilst we were away.

How can you be involved?
We and the Diocese of Kagera would appreciate your support both through prayer and financial assistance. To find out more about the needs of the Diocese, please visit www.kageradiocese.info and read our Tanzania 2011 BLOG
