We had some local youth here for Home Church this morning.  Praying, singing, reading and discussing the Bible. It was more a mix of bible study with praise and worship.  They brought along their Kiswahili New Testaments and  we went through some of Romans 5. The language barrier was difficult but it greatly helps their English.  We were all delighted to share together.

After this, I spent some time with them discussing the Old Testament. They do not have a copy of the Old Testament (yet!!! I will get some copies in Kiswahili for them). We opened our Childrens Bible and discovered that it was perfect for them to read and try to understand. Kinda like killing two birds with one stone - learning from God's word whilst learning some new English words. I had the English > Kiswahili dictionary out as well so I could translate. One of the lads here is named Enoch. We had a good laugh as we were reading about Cain killing Abel then having a son called Enoch.

They were very keen to continue next Sunday and we thank God for this.

Later, Rob

There are three things that remain - faith, hope and love - and the greatest of these is love.~
