[ Mitchell ]

Our next door neighbour, Ruth, got two rabbits for her birthday; Chips and Mayai (Mayai is Swahili for eggs). They are kept in a heat-trap niche under the fire for heating water. (Ruth was away at the time.) MayaiIf we didn’t bring them up to our deck and feed them every day and night, they would die of starvation, or, roast rabbit for dinner!

ChipsMayai is a plump, white rabbit with red eyes that glow in the dark. I know you’re starting to think it’s a mutant space zombie from Mars, because of its eyes! But I assure you it’s just a rabbit… I think!

Chips is a massive space monster from Neptune… Just kidding! But seriously, Chips is brown with brown ears and brown eyes, but a white tail and belly. It loooooooooooooooooooves playing in cardboard boxes.

The gardeners are building a box/cage for them to stay in luckily.
